Alltarach

Alltarach is an illustrated interactive novel about family, folklore, and grief, set in a semi-fantasy version of 6th century Ireland. 

You are Bríd, a seventeen-year-old orphan from Inis Caillí, a limestone rock on the edge of the known world that rises out of the squirming waves of the Atlantic. When you wake one morning to find your brother missing, you're forced to face up to your fear of, well, everything and set out in search of him. 

Leave your island and sail across the sound to a disunited land where Christian and pagan petty kingdoms vie for political supremacy, a generation after the death of the Apostle Patrick. Celebrate the spring festival Bealtaine, stay a while in a women-only abbey, or crawl through the woods and meet the ghosts of the old heroes escaped from Alltar, the Otherworld. Confront the ancient gods and the spectacle of the new one. Face your pain — together.
